SEW MUCH TO DO

SEW MUCH TO DO

Permalink by Phoenix Email, Sunday 29 January 2012 à 20:07, Categories: Sewing

Today I am finishing up two sewing projects I started last night, two black cotton sleeveless dresses (one plain, and one with pockets and a touch of lace). The other night I was up until 3 in the morning, just sewing. Besides the dresses mentioned above, I ended up making a pair of pants and two skirts.

I had ripped apart the red hemp dress I made (which didn't quite fit right), took the skirt half of it, and turned it into a wrap skirt with three buttons on  the side. It has a pocket on the other side, large enough to hold my phone.

The other skirt I made out of the same material as the pants: a stretchy denim(?). The fabric has been in the my stash for years, so I'm not entirely sure. But an indigo stretchy cotton/denim fabric anyway.

The skirt, a mini pencil skirt, took me less than 20 minutes, as there were only two pieces to cut out and stitch together.

The pants... I just don't know. I screwed up while cutting out the pattern, and ended up making them shorter than I was anticipating. So they're wide leg yoga pants made out of stretchy denim. Like jeggings, but not as embarassing. But in mid-calf length. Woo, wide leg yoga capri jeggings! Let's make that fashionable this year.

I'll try to take photos at some point.

(Boring t-shirt dress, almost done. Yes, I sew in the kitchen.)
