Hormone Therapy Is God's Will

Hormone Therapy Is God's Will

The Daily Mail has an article up on a family in in TN(?) that has 18 kids. This family, good friends with the Duggars, want more kids. Okay, whatever; people are free to choose their family size. This, though, caught me off guard:

But Gil and Kelly are evangelical Christians who do not believe in using birth control, instead putting their lives - and their home size - into the hands of God.
According to the programme, which airs tonight, Gil and Kelly Bates are intent on seeking medical care to help them even the score to 10 girls and 10 boys.

So, as I am understanding it, putting your family size into the hands of God = IVF. Birth control is shunning God's will, but when you're unable to have anymore kids, it's God's will to use modern-day technology to do your desire?

Hmm.

The article stated that the parents find no contradiction whatsoever in this, but did not elaborate further. It's too bad, I would have been interested in the mental gymnastics they engaged in to reach such an idea. Really, I guess it boils down to "be fruitful and multiply" and that's what they are, indeed, doing.

Sadly, they want more children, but "do not have health insurance for their last ten children. " They just use the E.R.

That seems incredibly selfish to me: they are spending money in order to have more babies, when they cannot afford medical expenses for their living children.
