In one of my classes, for my final, I have to write a research paper about music of resistance. I get to pick the music, so long as it's outside of the US (and preferably not in English). I went through a few ideas that were difficult to find academic papers on, so I switched tactics and thought about doing the music of the German White Seperatist Movement: White Power music.

I was a little concerned that this is a bad choice (too offensive, whatever), so I emailed my professor about it last night. Turns out I had no need to worry. He "loves" the topic choice, and gave me a few pointers for the paper.

So over these next few weeks I'll be heavily researching the topic, and listening to - and translating - German hate rock. This seems vaguely appropriate since I have another paper I'm working on, about the French backlach against Muslim headscarves.
