christmas photos:
pacifica is going to miss my husband when we move. they gave him a bag full o’ goodies, and a card they all signed.
going to kmfdm tonight.
free, too - thank you, amex points.
baking fail: accidentally dumped tumeric instead of cinnamon into my cookies…
target apparently has pumpkin spice hershey kisses. i must find these…
i want this dog.
our car becomes more ghetto by the day. a list of things wrong with it, written by my husband:
also, it smells funny and the cd player doesn’t work so well…
i am craving thin, greasy pizza. especially thin greasy pizza cut into squares that i can fold in half to eat. om nom…
i found my favorite perfume! before, all i’ve been able to do is buy decants. the edp i love isn’t sold outside of europe, normally. but today i stumbled across an online boutique that sold it. considering how hard it is to find, i immediately bought a bottle. yay!
while digging through papers today, i found an old unused amazon gift certificate from my parents. so, i bought these:

blayne asked me to make a lasagna with hazelnuts. so, when he gets back, i think i am going to make a white lasagna. i’m thinking hazelnuts, broccoli, alfredo sauce, parmesan, mozzarella, and gruyere.
meme under cut:
coming home from juan colorado today, i saw, in the back of someone’s car, what appeared to be a decapitated alien head wearing a yellow and blue swim diaper as a hat.
james brought me to get my hair cut yesterday, by rob at cutting crew (located on hawthorne). the bald, heavily tattooed man on the left there is rob, my new hairdresser. and he is awesome.
inside, the shop is very masculine. red walls, and red tool chests hold their supplies. rob’s business card reads, “scaring people while making them prettier since 1986.” the back of it shows him shaving a skull. the side of his mirror is also covered in chick tracts, which is kind of hilarious.
he ended up chopping a lot of my hair off, but reassured me that it needed to be done. it fixed the ends up a lot, and straightened out the back. i was getting sick of layers. he trimmed and thinned my bangs out, too, which desperately needed it. after, he straightened my hair to make sure everything was even. i love straight hair, but rarely do it.
we discussed hair color, too, as he was working on me. he recommended a red shade called “rocket fire.” james mentioned maybe adding black streaks to the “rocket fire” red… which could be a possibility.
made this for blayne (hopfully it turns out):
Key Lime Pie
1 pre-baked graham cracker crust (8 or 9-in.)
1/2 cup fresh lime juice (key lime, if possible)
1 14-oz. can sweetened condensed milk
4 large egg yolks, at room temperature
In a large bowl, beat egg yolks and sweetened condensed milk with a large whisk until smooth. Whisking constantly, stream in lime juice and stir until smooth and well-combined. Pour into pie shell.
Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
Serves 8.
i plan on making these cookies soon. noms!
i want to get my ears pierced again - just at 16g, i think.
must have this tea. must convince blayne to bring me to stash tea in the next few days.
i know i shouldn’t play favorites, but mulder is my favorite kitty. maybe because everyone else loves bella more?
i took the glass out of the table today… poor bella didn’t notice until she was falling face-first through the opening.
still have a horrible headache since the car accident. neck pain has gone away for now.
hopefully be seeing a doctor soon.
tea from zippy.
2004 was the year i began seriously experimenting with the visual aspects of poetry (thank you, e. e. cummings). here is one of the earliest works from that:
i’m writing again.
we got rear-ended yesterday evening, on our way to james’.
i didn’t realize what had happened at first, until i realized blayne was pulling over to the shoulder of the road, and a car was following us to the side. i was fairly stunned, and tears welled up in my eyes. my hands shook a little bit as i grabbed my phone and sent james a text message. by the time james called me back, a minute or two later, i had mostly regained my composure, though i could barely talk (i lost my voice for the majority of the day yesterday, due to being sick).
whereas car accidents make me sad (and hurt my neck), my husband just saw dollar signs. the car is drivable, though he is hoping that it is totaled. i think we’ll find out saturday.
i will try and post some photos later of the car.
i might be on the hunt for another perfume. i adore my current scent, but considering i would need to go to france to buy a bottle, i am out of luck unless i want to keep buying decants…
looking through my books today as i reorganized them, i re-discovered my signed copy of from the corner of his eye. yay for dean koontz.
how do you view love?
for me, i do not really separate between platonic and romantic love; the line is blurry, and if i love you, i love you. that’s it.
val is moving to colorado. at least she’s closer now, rather than in texas.
for someone that doesn’t want children, i have a strange obsession with the american educational system (and how it needs to be revamped).
“Different cultures vary widely in the amount of gesticulation that accompanies their speech
(Italians say that you can silence an Italian by tying his hands behind his back)”
certainly true for me!
here is what i’d like for my birthday:
please take this moment in time and think about one person, any person, who you think might like my music and my art. someone who doesn’t know it.
someone who does not have amanda fucking palmer in their life and might like her there.
this does not have to be a peer. it could be a child, a mother, an ex, an uncle, an befriended enemy, a co-worker, a long-lost friend, a teacher, a whatever. ANYONE.picture them in your mind. picture if their life might possibly be made better if you brought some afp into it.
your life would probably be improved with some amanda palmer in it, too! ![]()
her “oasis” video, banned in the u.k.:
and “runs in the family":
i want flowers. ![]()
turns out i have a scar on my eyebrow… same eyebrow as blayne, and almost the same spot. how bizarre.
i have nothing but good things to say about sueha over at blush beauty bar. she waxed my eyebrows (which haven’t been waxed since i was 16 or so), and made them look great.
i follow trent reznor on twitter. he’s kind of hilarious sometimes. … as is amanda palmer.
i follow rob thomas’s twitter. because, um, i am a sad, sad fangirl. and i love when he links to photos like this.
yay for chatting with tyler. :)
we’ve been married a month! ♥
wedding photos!
um, if you’re on dial-up, click the cut, and then go make yourself a sandwich or something. there are a lot of photos.
CNN: What about for the people who say, “I just don’t have time to eat breakfast"? What are your tips?
Tallmadge: Everyone has time to eat breakfast. If someone says they don’t, then they should be happy being fat and unhealthy.
that’s not a very good tip.
is it wrong that i want these?
getting married in two hours!
mulder screamed and whined until we gave her some cheesy pasta.
she is quite happy now.
mulder likes pumpkin pie.
at the bus stop yesterday, i was asked if i was a high school student.
minnesota, i love you. al franken beat out norm coleman for senate!
joel’s group, sparkle picnic reminds me of upright citizens brigade. only, perhaps, more confusing.
seriously, though, go watch.
